Rosamund Pike

Born in London in 1979, Rosamund Elizabeth Pike is an actress. She was the only child of a classical violinist mother Caroline (Friend) and an opera singer father Julian Pike. Because of her parents' job, she spent much of her childhood touring around Europe. Pike attended Badminton School in Bristol, England and was a part of the National Youth Theatre. Pike was just 23 years old when she appeared in "Romeo and Juliet" at the National Youth Theatre. She was then noticed by an agent and signed. The film that she made her debut was a high-budget action film. However, her subsequent films were mostly independent films such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). In 2004, she won the award for Best Supporting Actress prize in The British Independent Film Awards. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was a film that featured Pike as one of the Bennet girls. A brief excursion into Hollywood film followed with the action flick, Doom (2005) and the suspenseful Fracture (2007) However, she made a return to smaller films featuring outstanding performances in three films: An Education (2009) as well as Dagenham (2010), and An Education. Dagenham (2010), and the lead role opposite Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).As she continued her stage work in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof Johnny English Reborn (2011), and inhabited the role in the role of "Andromeda" in the epic sci-fi thriller, Wrath of the Titans (2012). Alongside Tom Cruise as her female role in Jack Reacher (2012), she returned to action films.
