Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was the daughter of actors Melissa D. Canaday (New York City) and Edward James Hyland (New York City). When she was just four years old she began her career in the business with voice overs and commercial work. Private Parts (1997) was her first film. The Object of My Affection (1998) was followed by Another World (1964) where she played "Rain Wolfe" the child found in the park and fostered and raised by Josie. Sarah was to work with Amy Carlson ("Josie") at least a couple of times more: Falcone (2000). Law & Order (1990). Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was a part of Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the young Audrey Hepburns. The next year, she was a part in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), which starred Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth, Joe Guld's Secret ((2000) as well as Falcone ((2000)). Sarah has studied voice as well as tap, jazz, and hip-hop as well as film and television. Sarah, a New Yorker, also took part as an invited performer for her tap and Theater dance classes at "Reel to Real" Lincoln Center. She was raised by her mother until she reached the age of two years older. Then, she attended public school. When she was in 6th grade, she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) which she attended until she graduated in. Sarah who was 18, moved to Los Angeles, CA, where she got an aircraft pilot named "My American Family". The pilot's name was later changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah had been selected). Up to date, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy" who is the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) has won numerous awards, the most notable being the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
