Ayelet Zurer
Ayelet Zurer one of Israel's best loved
actresses, is a truly special woman. She was born in Tel Aviv and was first
discovered by Hollywood when Steven Spielberg cast her in her first
English-speaking role as Eric Bana’s wife in Munich (2005). Since arriving in
the United States, Zurer has starred in Studio films like Sony Pictures'
Vantage Point featuring Dennis Quaid and William Hurt as well as Samuel
Goldwyn's Fugitive Pieces opposite Stephen Dillane, Paul Schrader's Adam
Resurrected in the role of Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe. Ron Howard's Angeles
and Demons, opposite Tom Hanks, Darling Companion which is a Lawrence Kasdan
ensemble with Diane Keaton, Kevin Kline and Warner Bros. Man Of Steel in the
role of Russell Crow. She filmed Rodrigo Garcia, Last days in the desert, which
she starred in alongside Ewan McGregor, as well as waiting for the release of
her movie The Last Knights by the Japanese director Kazuaki Kiriya opposite
Clive Owen. Recently, she was awarded the Gold Nymph Award as Outstanding
Actress in an Drama Series at the 54th Festival of Television of Monte-Carlo.
The award was given for her performance in "Hostages". Ayelet won the
Israeli Film And Television Academy Award for her lead performance in Nina's
Tragedies. She also received nominations for her performance in the features
Only Dogs Run Free, The Dybbuk from the Holy Apple Field, Desperado, and
Rutenberg. Zurer was awarded the Haifa International Film Festival critic award
and also received a star on Haifa’s "film boulevard" for her local
and international achievements. Zurer won the Israeli Television Academy Award,
for her performance in "In Treatment" which was a highly acclaimed
series of television which was later adapted for American TV by HBO. In 2014
She was nominated as an apposite actress in the year's most popular drama
"Shtisel", but won the prize for the best actress in a dramatic for
her performance as an amazing surgeon who is faced with the death and life
dilemma in Hostages, sold to BBC4 and Canal Plus, and as an alternative to the
American ABC. She is the "face " of one of Israel's biggest
female-focused fashion houses- Golbary. Ayelet is a producer as well as artist,
writer and the illustrator of two adult books, "Shorts" and the
top-selling "Badolina" written by Gabi Nitazn. Ayelet has been
working on a couple of her projects in Israel as well as in the US and
expressed an interest in working internationally alongside directors from
around the world, including writers and directors who are not well-known.
