Milena Govich
Milena Govich is an actor, director, and
musician. She has directed a number of episodes of TV and film, including
Chicago Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). Milena was the
Co-EP/Producing director on Dick Wolf’s CBS show FBI (2018) and is currently
attached for two pilots. Milena was selected as one of the eight directors to
take part in AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. Unspeakable was
her short film and TV show proof of concept was shown at SXSW. It also received
Best Episodic at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at
SoHo International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017, by Milena
Vandervoort) was screened across the nation. It won the title of Best Narrative
Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The
Director's Choice Award was also given at Sedona International Film Festival.
Milena has appeared as an actor for more than 100 television shows. She first
gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the
prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis
Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was a Dick Wolf series, was her second major
character. The result was her being the Emmy-winning woman detective in Law
& Order (1990). K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010)(CBS); Make
It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family); and Lori Stevens (MTV Drama Finding Carter
(2014). Milena has been in numerous movies which include Sordid Things (2010);
A Novel Romance (2011) with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) with the
lead alongside Method Man; as well as #Lucky Number (2015). Milena is a Norman,
Oklahoma native. After being valedictorian of her high school she then went on
to complete two majors in vocal performances and premed with minors in dance
and violin at the University of Central Oklahoma. Then she benefited from her
ballet and classical training to perform on Broadway in the production by Rob
Marshall and Sam Mendes of 'Cabaret' in Studio 54.
