Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
who worked previously as a television correspondent for ABC News. She is
well-known for her tenure as co-anchor of Good Morning America Weekend from
2014 to 2018 and hosting The View from 2015 to in 2018. Prior to that, she was
co-anchoring World News Now and America This Morning. After graduating, she
worked in several communications-related jobs including an operations position
at Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. The position she held was in
sales for radio, because television was not a viable option. After a year of
work as a production assistant for WKEF/WRGT, she eventually was capable of
reporting and anchoring on occasion. From 2002 until 2005 she was the weekend
sports anchor as well as the sports anchor for weekdays at the station WCPO in
Cincinnati. The contract was canceled and she was a reporter and anchor for NBC
affiliate WMAQ-TV, Chicago, from November 2005 through December 2011. In
December 2011, it was announced that she was hired by the news division of ABC,
ABC News. Her first appearance on the network came on January 2, 2012 on ABC's
World News Now, and America This Morning. She was a journalist and substitute
for Good Morning America during this period. Later she was promoted as an New York-based
reporter on the entire ABC News programs. She was unable to make it to the
final episode of World News Now or America This Morning. It was on January 22nd
2013. She made her debut on Good Morning America Weekend as co-anchor,
September 9, 2014. This was after Bianna Golodryga moved to Yahoo! News. News.
On August 3 on the 3rd of August, 2016 the show announced they renewed her
contract for its twentieth season. She was also renewed as co-host for Season
21. In the 22nd and 21st seasons she mostly appeared during the Friday episode
of the program.
