Julia Karin Ormond Bio

Julia Karin Ormond (born 4 January 1965) is an English actor from the UK. Her fame was boosted by her roles in The Baby of Macon (1993), Legends of the Fall (94), First Knight (95), Sabrina (95), Sabrina (95) and Smilla's Sense of Snow (1997) and The Barber of Siberia (1998). For her performance as Temple Grandin (2010) the actress won an Emmy Award in the Miniseries or the Movie category. Her role as the main antagonist in The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2020) is another highlight. Ormond was born in Epsom, Surrey, the daughter of Josephine, a laboratory technician and John Ormond, a stockbroker. She is the second of five children to her parents. After attending Guildford High School and Cranleigh School she attended private schools. The first time she performed in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady attracted attention. After a year in art school, she transferred to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, where she graduated in 1988. Ormond made her debut on British television's 1989 serial Traffik. It was about illegal heroin trade between the far East and the streets of Europe. Ormond was the addicted daughter of the lead character, who was a Home Office minister in the UK government that was involved in fighting heroin importation. The role was a hit and received overwhelmingly positive reviews.
