Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora, a British music producer and singer. She was born Rita Sahatciu Ora in 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo, to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. She is the granddaughter of director Besim Sahatciu. When she was just one, her family took the decision to move to England. She was raised in West London and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, following which she was accepted into Sylvia Young Theatre School and then St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She started singing when she was a teenager. In 2004, she was featured in the British film Spivs. She was chosen to audition for Eurovision Your Country requires You as a British contestant in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. However she decided to withdraw from the contest after only few episodes due to the fact that she didn't feel confident enough. Ora has released her first album in 2007 when she was featured on the song of Craig David titled "Awkward" which was followed by a follow-up appearance in 2008 on "Where’s Your Love" with TinchyStryder. Ora began performing in bars in and around London and then in 2009 an A&R representative told Roc Nation about Ora, just a few days following Ora traveled to New York and met Jay-Z. In 2009, Ora made a cameo in Jay-Z's video of "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z was impressed by Ora's talent and quickly signed her to Roc Nation. In which Ora was included in a commercial for Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. She started singing from the same pub her father, Besnik, was a pub owner. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her manner of speaking. She also cites her father, Besnik who was the owner of a pub. A friend of Kate Moss, and Ed Sheeran.
