Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger, was born in
Katy, Texas on April 25, 1969. Her mother Kjellfrid (Andreassen) is an ex-nurse
and midwife born in Norway. Kven (Finnish), and is also of Swedish as well as
Norwegian descent. Emil Erich Zellweger, her father, is a Swiss-born engineer.
They got became married in 1963. Renee is a sister to a brother called Drew
Zellweger, a marketing executive born on February 15 in 1967. Renee got
interested in acting in high school when she was working in the drama group.
She also attended an acting class at the University of Texas (Austin) in
Austin, and then began looking at pursuing a career in acting. She was
determined to pursue acting after graduation. But, Hollywood can be difficult
to get into and so Renee chose to remain in Texas and apply for roles in
Houston. At the time, she got roles in films like Reality Bites (1994), and
Empire Records (1995). While filming the sequel to that film, Texas Chainsaw
Massacre: The Next Generation (1994) she made friends with Matthew McConaughey,
another Hollywood up-and-comer. McConaughey was working on an idea at the time
which Renee was interested in, tried out for, and got the role in the film Love
and a .45 (1994) that received her enough praise from critics that she decided
to relocate to Los Angeles. Her biggest break came when she was cast in another
role in The Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron Crowe was busy casting Jerry
Maguire (1996) with Tom Cruise. Crowe was considering actresses such like
Cameron Diaz, Bridget Fonda, Winona Ryder, and Marisa Tomei, when he was
introduced to Zellweger's role in The Whole Wide World (1996). He auditioned
Zellweger, and felt certain he had found his Dorothy Boyd. After her success in
a couple of independent films, Renee felt confident enough to go back to the
big-budget Hollywood film industry. Meryl Streep starred alongside her in One
True Thing (1998). She also starred in Me, Myself & Irene (2000),
opposite Jim Carrey, and soon after began dating Carrey. Bridget Jones's Diary
(2001) In the lead role.
