Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. The host of her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network Series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook will show you how to master easy techniques and her trademark blonde spiky locks. Chef Burrell was employed at some of the most prestigious New York restaurants and studied Italian cuisine and environment. Also, she was a contestant in Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stop for her after she graduated with A Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute Of America student. I enjoyed every moment." It was hard to study and do enough or put in the hours. After graduation, chef Burrell took a gap year to Italy taking classes at Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a 1 Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. The chef gained an understanding of Italian food and culture through her travels in Italy which has had an impact on the way she cooks. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing difficulties. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador where she advocates for education about the condition known as juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell goes on a tour across the United States to promote her love for cooking and food, as well as to talk about her profession in culinary. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has said, "I feel blessed to be able be able to share the passion I have in life with others.
